As I noted in a summer 2026 blog post, I am returning to the traditional classroom setting. While I have taught World History in the past, I decided to start from "year zero," using my knowledge of pedagogy and content, but not reaching for any of my past resources.
So, I used Claude to help create two useful spreadsheets that correlate my district's pacing guide with the NCSS C3 Standards, the four OER World History Courses, and the ISTE Standards.
On the right, you'll find links to my district's current pacing guide and the two spreadsheets I created to plan for the year.
Below, you'll find a breakdown of how I built the Claude project (artifacts, prompts, and instructions for routines) that I am using to manipulate and create additional resources before I pair them with some of my other favorite classroom apps!
Unit 0: Historical Narratives and Frames
There is not a lot of derivation from the OER project's first unit in their World History 1200-Present course. What you will see shared (click the buttons on the right) are resources I've created to supplement some of those activities. Or you will find a Google Doc version of some of the OER handouts.
